CME Needs

Doctor's Assistance Corporation identifies CME needs through the following process:

  1. Needs Assessment Surveys are given to attendees at current workshops.
  2. Seminar Evaluations are completed at the end of each workshop by participants.
  3. Questions, comments and feedback are requested of participants at workshops.
  4. Questions asked by potential participants prior to attendance are noted.
  5. Current articles in professional medical journals (Medicare Bulletins, GHAA Newsletters, Marion Merrell Dow Managed Care Digest Update, and Managed Health Care, for example) are taken into consideration.
  6. Doctor's Assistance Corporation assesses the needs of its participants on an ongoing basis in order to develop and offer workshops and educational materials which they will benefit from. The assessment process if as follows:
  7. Needs assessment data is given to the Quality Assurance Director who evaluates, assimilates, and documents the data. Reports are given to the management team at bi-weekly management meetings.
  8. The management team decides which topics represent the greatest need and warrant further research. Staff is appointed to research current information on specific topics to determine if there is sufficient information to warrant a seminar or manual, or if the information is minimal and can be included in a current seminar or manual.
  9. If a seminar is warranted, staff is appointed to write a course syllabus and informational materials (workbook and/or manual).
  10. The decision is then made to hire and train new seminar leaders or train existing seminar leaders on the new topic.
  11. Seminar dates and cities are scheduled.
  12. A mailing brochure is created, printed and mailed to all potential participants in that area.
